How the Days Between Two Dates Are Counted
The calculator converts each date to a day number and subtracts them. The month and year breakdown counts whole calendar months first and then the days that are left.
Most people count the days between two dates without the end date, so one day passes between January 1 and January 2. Choose Include end date when you want to count every calendar day from the first to the last, for example the number of days in a trip or a leave period.

Months have 28 to 31 days. February has 29 days in a leap year, which comes around every four years, except for century years that are not divisible by 400.

Weekdays and Weekend Days
The weekday count includes Monday to Friday, and the rest are weekend days. It does not remove public holidays. The tool counts whole calendar days and does not account for time zones, clock changes or the time of day. Dates must fall between the years 1900 and 2200. For legal or contract deadlines, always check how the document defines the counting method.
