Salary Calculator: Convert Hourly, Weekly, Monthly and Annual Pay

Our free salary calculator converts your pay between hourly, daily, weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, monthly, quarterly and yearly amounts. Enter what you earn, choose how you are paid, and set your hours per week and paid weeks per year. You see every other pay period at once. The Take-Home Pay tab then estimates what you keep after 2026 federal income tax, Social Security and Medicare, and an optional state tax rate.

Quick answer: a $65,000 salary is $31.25 an hour, $1,250.00 a week and $5,416.67 a month for a 40-hour week. A single filer takes home about $54,408 a year after tax, which is $2,092.60 per bi-weekly paycheck.

How Salary Conversion Works

Every pay period is a share of the same yearly total. The calculator turns your pay into an annual amount first, then divides that amount by the number of hours, days, weeks or months. A full-time schedule of 40 hours for 52 weeks is 2,080 working hours a year, which is why many people divide a salary by 2,080 to get an hourly rate.

Hourly to annualAnnual pay = Hourly rate × Hours per week × Paid weeks per year
Annual to hourlyHourly rate = Annual pay ÷ (Hours per week × Paid weeks per year)

This table shows common hourly rates at 40 hours a week for 52 weeks.

Hourly payWeeklyMonthlyAnnual
$15.00$600$2,600$31,200
$20.00$800$3,467$41,600
$25.00$1,000$4,333$52,000
$35.00$1,400$6,067$72,800
$50.00$2,000$8,667$104,000

Hours, Days and Paid Weeks

Not everyone works 40 hours for 52 weeks, so the calculator lets you change the numbers. Hourly workers who take unpaid time off earn less over the year: $25 an hour for 40 hours is $52,000 over 52 paid weeks but $50,000 over 50. Part-time workers can enter their actual hours, and anyone on a four-day week can adjust the days to see an accurate daily rate. To track the hours themselves, use the hours calculator.

Pay Frequency: Weekly, Bi-Weekly, Semi-Monthly or Monthly

Your employer's pay schedule changes the size of each paycheck but not your yearly income. Bi-weekly pay means 26 paychecks, while semi-monthly means 24, so each semi-monthly check is a little larger. Twice a year, bi-weekly workers receive three paychecks in one month. The table compares the schedules for a $65,000 salary, with take-home pay for a single filer.

Estimating Take-Home Pay

On the Take-Home Pay tab, pick your filing status, pay frequency and any pre-tax deductions, such as retirement contributions. The calculator applies the 2026 standard deduction and brackets, then adds Social Security and Medicare tax. State and local taxes vary, so you can enter a flat rate for your area. For a closer look at your tax bill, use the tax calculator, and for a per-paycheck view with deductions, try the paycheck calculator. If you plan to save part of your pay, the 401k calculator shows how contributions grow.

Comparing Job Offers and Raises

A salary calculator makes offers easier to compare. Convert an hourly offer to a yearly figure, or a salary to an hourly rate, and put both on the same footing. Use the raise field to see how a percentage increase changes your annual and monthly pay. Remember to count benefits, bonuses and commuting costs, since the calculator only converts the base pay you enter.

Who Uses a Salary Calculator?

Job seekers comparing offers, hourly workers who want to know their yearly income, employees planning a budget, freelancers setting a rate, and anyone checking what a raise is worth. Results are estimates for general information, not tax or financial advice.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about the Salary Calculator.
How do I convert hourly pay to an annual salary?
Multiply your hourly rate by the hours you work each week and by the weeks you are paid. At 40 hours a week for 52 weeks that is 2,080 hours, so $25 an hour is $52,000 a year. If you work fewer paid weeks, enter that number in the calculator and the result adjusts.
How do I convert an annual salary to an hourly rate?
Divide your salary by the hours you work in a year. For a full-time job that is usually 2,080 hours. A salary of $65,000 divided by 2,080 gives $31.25 an hour. Change the hours per week or the paid weeks if your schedule is different.
What is the difference between bi-weekly and semi-monthly pay?
Bi-weekly means every two weeks, so there are 26 paychecks a year. Semi-monthly means twice a month, usually on set dates, so there are 24. On a $65,000 salary, a bi-weekly paycheck is $2,500.00 gross and a semi-monthly paycheck is $2,708.33. The yearly total is the same.
How is take-home pay calculated?
The take-home tab subtracts federal income tax using the 2026 brackets and the standard deduction, Social Security and Medicare tax, and any state tax rate you enter. For a single filer earning $65,000 that is about $10,592 in tax, leaving $54,408 a year, or $2,092.60 per bi-weekly paycheck. The tax calculator shows the full breakdown.
How does unpaid time off change my pay?
If you are paid by the hour, each unpaid week lowers your yearly income. At $25 an hour for 40 hours, 52 paid weeks gives $52,000, while 50 paid weeks gives $50,000. Salaried workers usually receive the same amount for paid holidays and vacation, so they can leave the weeks at 52.
Does the calculator include overtime, bonuses or benefits?
No. It converts the base pay you enter. Overtime, bonuses, commissions, employer benefits and retirement matches are not added, so include them in the amount you enter if you want them counted. Results are estimates for planning, and your payslip may differ.
