Numerology Compatibility Calculator: Compare Names and Birth Dates

A numerology compatibility calculator compares the core numbers of two people to see how they fit together. Each full birth name gives an Expression, a Soul Urge and a Personality number, and each birth date gives a Life Path number. The calculator scores how well each pair of numbers works together and combines them into one percentage. Choose a tab for a couple, a business, a child's name or any two people, enter the names and dates, and the result appears at once.

If you want a full reading of one person's numbers first, use the numerology calculator. For names written in Arabic, the Abjad compatibility calculator offers the same idea with a different traditional system.

Quick example: John Alexander Doe, born 15 June 1985, and Sarah Jane Miller, born 22 March 1988, score 70 percent in the Pythagorean system.

The Numbers That Are Compared

Master numbers 11, 22 and 33 are shown as they are, for example 11/2, and are compared as the single digit they reduce to.

How the Compatibility Score Is Worked Out

Each pair of numbers gets a score. The same number scores 100. A number that numerology tables list as harmonious with the other scores 85, and any other pair scores 50. The pair scores are then combined using weights that depend on the tab.

For couples the Life Path and Soul Urge count most, because they describe direction and inner needs. For friends, family and colleagues the Expression and Personality count more, because they show how people work and come across.

The Four Tabs

Couple compares a man and a woman, and Others compares friends, family or colleagues. Business compares an owner with a business name. The name is turned into a name number and checked against the owner's Life Path and Expression.

Child Name compares a parent with up to three name ideas and ranks them. A child has no personal history yet, so the date is optional.

Pythagorean, Chaldean and Modern

Pythagorean is the most common system and gives the letters the values 1 to 9 in alphabetical order. Chaldean is older and uses 1 to 8. Modern uses the Pythagorean values and treats Y as a vowel when it is not next to another vowel. The method changes the name numbers, so the compatibility score can change as well. Birth dates do not depend on the method.

A Note on Using the Result

Numerology compatibility is a traditional practice, and different teachers use different tables. This calculator only does arithmetic on the names and dates you enter. It does not predict how people will get on, and it is not advice for a relationship, a business or a name. Use birth names exactly as written on the birth certificate for the most traditional result.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about the Numerology Compatibility Calculator.
What is a numerology compatibility calculator?
It compares two people, or a person and a name, using numerology. Each full name is turned into numbers using the letters, and each birth date gives a Life Path number. The calculator compares the Life Path, Expression, Soul Urge and Personality numbers and combines them into a compatibility score from 0 to 100 percent.
Which numbers are compared?
The Life Path number comes from the birth date. The Expression number comes from every letter in the full name, the Soul Urge from the vowels and the Personality from the consonants. Each pair is scored, and the scores are weighted according to the tab you use, for example the Life Path counts most for couples.
How is the score worked out?
Each pair of numbers is first reduced to a single digit. The same number scores 100, a number that is traditionally harmonious with the other scores 85, and any other pairing scores 50. The pair scores are then combined using the weights for the tab and rounded. It is a simple method built on common numerology tables, shown for interest.
How does the business name tab work?
Enter the owner's name and birth date and the name of the business. The business name is turned into a name number, which is compared with the owner's Life Path and Expression numbers. Its Soul Urge and Personality are compared with the owner's too. The result also describes the kind of brand the name number suggests.
How do I compare baby names?
Use the Child Name tab. Enter a parent's name and birth date and up to three name ideas. Each idea is scored against the parent and the names are ranked from best to lowest. If you know the child's birth or due date, add it so the Life Path is included in the score.
Does a low score mean we are not compatible?
No. Numerology compatibility only compares numbers, and many other things shape a relationship, a business or a name. A low score does not mean a bad match and a high score does not guarantee a good one. Use the result as a point of interest and a way to start a conversation.
